627.64192, 627.66912, and 641.31078, F.S.; providing 4
definitions; requiring certain individual health 5
policies, group, blanket, and franchise policies, and 6
health maintenance contracts, respectively, to provide 7
coverage for evidence-based cancer imaging and genetic 8
testing for hereditary cancer risk, without any cost-9
sharing requirements, for specified individuals; 10

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 13

Section 1. Section 627.64192, Florida Statutes, is created 15
to read: 16
627.64192 Required coverage for imaging and genetic 17
testing for cancer risk.— 18
(1) As used in this section, the term: 19
(a) "Cost-sharing requirement" means an insured's 20
deductible, coinsurance, copayment, or any similar out-of-pocket 21
expense. 22
(b) "Evidence-based cancer imaging" means imaging 23
techniques used for detecting cancer and guiding treatment which 24
are in accordance with the most recent versions of the National 25

Comprehensive Cancer Network clinical practice guidelines. 26
(c) "Genetic testing for hereditary cancer risk" means 27
germline multigene testing for an inherited mutation associated 28
with an increased risk of cancer in accordance with evidence-29
based clinical practice guidelines. 30
(2) A health insurance policy that is delivered, issued 31
for delivery, renewed, amended, or continued in this state and 32
that provides major medical or similar comprehensive coverage 33
must provide coverage for: 34
(a) Genetic testing for hereditary cancer risk for an 35
individual with a personal or family history of cancer which is 36
recommended by a health care professional; and 37
(b) Evidence-based cancer imaging for an individual with 38
an increased risk of cancer as recommended by the National 39
Comprehensive Cancer Network clinical practice guidelines. 40
(3) The coverage required under subsection (2) is not 41
subject to any cost-sharing requirement. 42
Section 2. Section 627.66912, Florida Statutes, is created 43

that is delivered, issued for delivery, renewed, amended, or 60

(a) Genetic testing for hereditary cancer risk for an 63
individual with a personal or family history of cancer which is 64
recommended by a health care professional; and 65
(b) Evidence-based cancer imaging for an individual with 66
an increased risk of cancer as recommended by the National 67
Comprehensive Cancer Network clinical practice guidelines. 68
(3) The coverage required under subsection (2) is not 69
subject to any cost-sharing requirement. 70

deductible, coinsurance, copayment, or any similar out-of-pocket 77

techniques used for detecting cancer and guiding treatment which 80
are in accordance with the most recent versions of the National 81
Comprehensive Cancer Network clinical practice guidelines. 82
(c) "Genetic testing for hereditary cancer risk" means 83
germline multigene testing for an inherited mutation associated 84
with an increased risk of cancer in accordance with evidence-85
based clinical practice guidelines. 86
(2) A health maintenance contract that is delivered, 87
issued for delivery, renewed, amended, or continued in this 88
state and that provides major medical or similar comprehensive 89
coverage must provide coverage for: 90
(a) Genetic testing for hereditary cancer risk for an 91
individual with a personal or family history of cancer which is 92
recommended by a health care professional; and 93
(b) Evidence-based cancer imaging for an individual with 94
an increased risk of cancer as recommended by the National 95
Comprehensive Cancer Network clinical practice guidelines. 96
(3) The coverage required under subsection (2) is not 97
subject to any cost-sharing requirement. 98
Section 4. This act shall take effect July 1, 2026. 99
