requesting to inspect or copy a public record relating 5
to a law enforcement officer; requiring the custodian 6
of public records to retain a copy of such 7
identification; providing applicability; providing an 8
effective date. 9

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 11

Section 1. Paragraph (e) is added to subsection (3) of 13
section 119.07, Florida Statutes, to read: 14
119.07 Inspection and copying of records; photographing 15
public records; identification required; fees; exemptions.— 16
(3) 17
(e) Any person requesting to inspect or copy a public 18
record relating to a law enforcement officer as defined in s. 19
943.10(1) must provide the custodian of public records with a 20
valid driver license or identification card issued by this state 21
or another state. The custodian of public records must retain a 22
copy of such license or identification card with such request. 23
This paragraph does not apply to a law enforcement officer 24
acting in his or her official capacity. 25

Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2026. 26
