2 A memorial to the Congress of the United States,
3 urging Congress to pass H.R. 260, the No Tax Dollars
4 for Terrorists Act.

6 WHEREAS, the Federal Government, and other nongovernmental
7 organizations, are wasting the money of American taxpayers by
8 sending more than 40 million dollars each week to the Taliban,
9 an organization with an extensive record of human atrocities
10 which is currently under review to be designated as a foreign
11 terrorist organization, and
12 WHEREAS, reporting indicates that such taxpayer funds are
13 being laundered through multiple channels, with Taliban leaders
14 taking a share of the money and providing aid to Taliban
15 supporters, and
16 WHEREAS, the Taliban allows designated foreign terrorist
17 organizations al-Qaida, Tehrik-e-Taliban, and the Haqqani
18 Network to operate in Afghanistan, and
19 WHEREAS, in the past, the Taliban has used noncombatants as
20 human shields; taken part in mass murder, gang rape, and
21 hangings; and used Sharia law to remove rights from women,
22 including banning girls from access to education, restricting
23 women’s ability to work, and requiring women to be covered head
24 to-toe, as part of a broader strategy to remove women from
25 public life, NOW, THEREFORE,

27 Be It Resolved by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

29 That the Congress of the United States is urged to pass
30 H.R. 260, the No Tax Dollars for Terrorists Act, to require the
31 implementation of a strategy to oppose financial assistance to
32 the Taliban.
33 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of State dispatch
34 copies of this memorial to the President of the United States,
35 to the President of the United States Senate, to the Speaker of
36 the United States House of Representatives, and to each member
37 of the Florida delegation to the United States Congress.
