A BILL FOR AN ACT

relating
to Natural resources
.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1.
�
There is
appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of
$800,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2026-2027 for mangrove
removal and other shoreline and stream maintenance in the nineteenth senatorial
district and nearby areas, including the Pearl Harbor shoreline along West Loch
and Middle Loch.

Expenditures may include:

(1)
�
Phased
invasive mangrove removal across shoreline and estuarine areas;

����
(2)
�
The
planting of native vegetation;

����
(3)
�
Necessary
maintenance to prevent regrowth of mangroves;

����
(4)
�
Biological
and habitat monitoring; and

����
(5)
�
Coordination
with partner agencies, including the United States Navy and the United States
Fish and Wildlife Service, as necessary for access and other jurisdictional
issues.

The sum appropriated shall be expended by
the division of aquatic resources of the department of land and natural
resources for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 2.

This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2026.
