Amy Briel SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED: 110 ILCS 330/11 new 210 ILCS 85/11.11 new Amends the Hospital Licensing Act. Provides that, before transporting a patient to a hospital facility, the hospital must inform the patient of the costs associated with transportation to the facility. Provides that a hospital must also conspicuously list on the hospital's publicly accessible website the cost of transporting a patient to a hospital facility. Amends the University of Illinois Hospital Act to require the University of Illinois Hospital to comply with those requirements. LRB104 16733 BAB 30140 b A BILL FOR HB4454 LRB104 16733 BAB 30140 b 1 AN ACT concerning regulation. 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 3 represented in the General Assembly: 4 Section 5. The University of Illinois Hospital Act is 5 amended by adding Section 11 as follows: 6 (110 ILCS 330/11 new) 7 Sec. 11. Transportation cost transparency. The University 8 of Illinois Hospital shall comply with Section 11.11 of the 9 Hospital Licensing Act. 10 Section 10. The Hospital Licensing Act is amended by 11 adding Section 11.11 as follows: 12 (210 ILCS 85/11.11 new) 13 Sec. 11.11. Transportation cost transparency. Before 14 transporting a patient to a hospital facility, the hospital 15 must inform the patient of the costs associated with 16 transportation to the facility. A hospital must also 17 conspicuously list on the hospital's publicly accessible 18 website the cost of transporting a patient to a hospital 19 facility.
