SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

20 ILCS 2310/2310-712 new

Amends the Department of Public Health Powers and Duties Law of the
Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Provides that the Department of
Public Health shall require any health care facility receiving State or
federal funding to publish the facility's financial records on the
facility's publicly accessible website at the end of each fiscal year.
Effective immediately.

AN ACT concerning regulation.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5.
The Department of Public Health Powers and
5
Duties Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is

amended by adding Section 2310-712 as follows:

(20 ILCS 2310/2310-712 new)

Sec. 2310-712.
Financial transparency for health care
9
facilities.
As used in this Section, "health care facility"
10
has the meaning given to that term in Section 3 of the Illinois
11
Health Facilities Planning Act, except that "health care
12
facility" includes federally funded facilities. The Department
13
shall require any health care facility receiving State or
14
federal funding to publish the facility's financial records on
15
the facility's publicly accessible website at the end of each
16
fiscal year.

Section 99.
Effective date.
This Act takes effect upon
18
becoming law.
