SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
10 ILCS 5/1A-55
Amends the Election Code. In provisions concerning cybersecurity
efforts, modifies the amendatory changes made by Public Act 100-587 to
conform with the amendatory changes made by Public Act 100-623. Makes
technical changes.

AN ACT concerning elections.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5.
The Election Code is amended by changing
5
Section 1A-55 as follows:

Sec. 1A-55.
Cybersecurity
Cyber security
efforts.
The
9
State
Board
of Elections
shall
adopt rules
provide by rule
,

after at least 2 public hearings of the Board and in
11
consultation with
the
election authorities,
establishing
a
12
cyber navigator program
Cyber Navigator Program
to support
the
13
efforts of
election
authorities' efforts
authorities
to defend
14
against
cybersecurity
cyber
breaches and detect and recover
15
from
cyberattacks
cyber attacks
. The rules shall include the
16
Board's plan to allocate any resources received in accordance
17
with the
federal
Help America Vote Act and
shall
provide that
18
no less than half of any
such
funds received
under the federal
19
Help America Vote Act
shall be allocated to the

20
navigator program. The cyber navigator program shall
