SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

55 ILCS 5/5-1195 new
60 ILCS 1/85-75 new
65 ILCS 5/Art. 11 Div. 122.3 heading new
65 ILCS 5/11-122.3-1 new

Amends the Counties Code, the Illinois Municipal Code, and the
Township Code. Provides that, if a county, township, or municipality
offers microtransit services, then the county must provide riders with a
method to prepay for the microtransit service with a smartphone
application.

AN ACT concerning local government.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5.
The Counties Code is amended by adding Section
5
5-1195 as follows:

(55 ILCS 5/5-1195 new)

Sec. 5-1195.
Microtransit services.
8

(a) As used in this Section, "microtransit" means a
9
transit service that transports a rider from a location chosen
10
by the rider to a location chosen by the rider and does not use
11
a fixed-route.

(b) If a county offers microtransit services, then the
13
county must provide riders with a method to prepay for the
14
microtransit service with a smartphone application.

Section 10.
The Township Code is amended by adding Section
16
85-75 as follows:
