Robyn Gabel SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED: Makes appropriations for the ordinary and contingent expenses of the Southern Illinois University for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026, as follows: General Funds $234,246,700 Other State Funds $1,266,000 Total $235,512,700 OMB104 00298 HLR 10298 b HB5691 OMB104 00298 HLR 10298 b 1 AN ACT concerning appropriations. 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 3 represented in the General Assembly: 4 ARTICLE 1 5 Section 5. The sum of $228,286,700, or so much thereof as 6 may be necessary, is appropriated from the Education 7 Assistance Fund to the Board of Trustees of Southern Illinois 8 University to meet its operational expenses for the fiscal 9 year ending June 30, 2027. 10 Section 10. The sum of $62,800, or so much thereof as may 11 be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue Fund to 12 the Board of Trustees of Southern Illinois University for any 13 costs associated with the Daily Egyptian Newspaper. 14 Section 15. The sum of $1,000,000, or so much thereof as 15 may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue 16 Fund to the Board of Trustees of Southern Illinois University 17 for costs associated with the National Corn-to-Ethanol 18 Research Center and ethanol research grants. 19 Section 20. The sum of $16,000, or so much thereof as may 5 be necessary, is appropriated from the State College and 6 University Trust Fund to the Board of Trustees of Southern 7 Illinois University for scholarship grant awards. 8 Section 30. The sum of $1,250,000, or so much thereof as 9 may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Professions 10 Dedicated Fund to the Board of Trustees of Southern Illinois 11 University for all costs associated with the development, 12 support or administration of pharmacy practice education or 13 training programs at the Edwardsville campus. 14 Section 35. The sum of $2,700,000, or so much thereof as 15 may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue 16 Fund to the Board of Trustees of Southern Illinois University 17 for all costs associated with programming at the formerly 18 Lindenwood Campus in Belleville. 19 Section 40. The sum of $266,600, or so much thereof as may 20 be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue Fund to 21 the Board of Trustees of Southern Illinois University for 22 costs associated with the SIU Office of Community Engagement. The sum of $500,000, or so much thereof as may 6 be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue Fund to 7 the Board of Trustees of Southern Illinois University for 8 costs associated with a six-month study measuring the impact 9 of automatically distributing emergency incident information 10 from 911 dispatch to public safety manual aid and school 11 personnel during emergency incidents occurring in Illinois and 12 grants to local school districts to implement the system. 13 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1, 14 2026.
