Full Text of HJR0050 Home Legislation Full Text HJR0050 - 104th General Assembly Bill Status Full Text Votes Witness Slips Select Menu Bill Status Full Text Votes Witness Slips Printer Friendly Version Introduced Printer Friendly Version Introduced Open PDF HJ0050 LRB104 18363 ECR 31803 r 1 HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The Professional Review Panel (PRP) is 3 responsible for evaluating and recommending modifications to 4 the Evidence-Based Funding Formula to ensure all students have 5 access to a quality education; and 6 WHEREAS, The emergence of generative artificial 7 intelligence and related technologies has already 8 significantly impacted schools; and 9 WHEREAS, The continued development of artificial 10 intelligence and related technologies has the potential to 11 further transform teaching and learning as well as school and 12 district operations; and 13 WHEREAS, The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) will 14 release guidance related to artificial intelligence in schools 15 by July 1, 2026; therefore, be it 16 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 17 HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE 18 SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that we direct the Professional 19 Review Panel (PRP) and the Illinois State Board of Education 20 (ISBE) to conduct the analysis and financial modeling required 21 to evaluate the current, likely, and potential impacts of HJ0050 - 2 - LRB104 18363 ECR 31803 r 1 artificial intelligence and related technologies on the cost 2 factors within the evidence-based funding model; and be it 3 further 4 RESOLVED, That the PRP and the ISBE shall submit their 5 findings in a written report to the General Assembly and 6 Governor by December 31, 2027.
