HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The United States of America will commemorate its
3
250th anniversary with America250, a national celebration
4
honoring the founding of our nation and the enduring legacy of
5
freedom and democracy; and

6

WHEREAS, The Coca-Cola Company, founded in the late 19th
7
century, has grown to become an iconic American brand,
8
symbolizing innovation, unity, and the spirit of our country;
9
and

10

WHEREAS, The Coca-Cola System has demonstrated unwavering
11
support for America250, helping to promote national pride and
12
the shared values that unite citizens across Illinois and the
13
nation; and

14

WHEREAS, Coca-Cola beverages have played a significant
15
role in American culture, society, and industry, and the
16
Coca-Cola System enriches our communities through economic
17
investment, philanthropy, and a commitment to service; and

18

WHEREAS, The Illinois Coca-Cola bottlers, including
19
Atlantic Coca-Cola Bottling, Coca-Cola Consolidated, Heartland
20
Coca-Cola Bottling Company, and Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling, have
21
contributed to local communities throughout Illinois,

including job creation, support for local initiatives, and

engagement in historic celebrations that foster a sense of
3
belonging and purpose; and

WHEREAS, Illinois' legacy with Coca-Cola dates back to the
5
early 1900s when the first bottling operations began, making
6
the State of Illinois an important hub in the growth of
7
Coca-Cola's nationwide distribution network, which includes $4
8
billion in economic activity and over 40,000 jobs supported in
9
the State of Illinois; and

10

WHEREAS, The enduring presence of Coca-Cola in American
11
life reflects a tradition of excellence and an ongoing
12
dedication to the well-being of its citizens; therefore, be it

13

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
14
HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE
15
SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that we recognize The Coca-Cola
16
Company and the Illinois Coca-Cola bottlers for their generous
17
support of America250 and their historic and positive impact
18
on Illinois and the United States, and we extend our gratitude
19
for their continued commitment to building a brighter future
20
for all Americans; and be it further

21

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
22
presented to The Coca-Cola Company and the Coca-Cola bottlers
