HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3
Representatives wish to commend the China General Chamber of
4
Commerce Chicago (CGCC Chicago) for its continued efforts to
5
promote the fostering of bilateral economic and cultural
6
exchange between the United States and China; and

7

WHEREAS, Founded in 2015 and rooted in the Midwest, CGCC
8
Chicago enables investment and trade between American and
9
Chinese industries across the United States and promotes job
10
creation, economic growth and development, and cultural
11
exchange by providing resources, networking opportunities, and
12
advocacy for policies that support strong business
13
relationships; and

14

WHEREAS, Today, CGCC Chicago has become the largest and
15
most influential membership-based, nonprofit, U.S.-China
16
business organization based in the Midwest; and

17

WHEREAS, The 200-plus members of CGCC Chicago have
18
facilitated nearly $23 billion in direct investments into the
19
United States, including the creation of 45,000 American jobs;
20
and

21

WHEREAS, CGCC Chicago has previously been acknowledged by

the City of Chicago, which recognized the organization for the
2
impact its significant contributions made towards advancing
3
U.S.-China economic ties, proclaiming the declaration of CGCC
4
Chicago Impact Day on November 20, 2023; and

5

WHEREAS, CGCC Chicago hosts an annual gala to highlight
6
opportunities and discuss challenges regarding economic and
7
cultural exchange between the United States and China, and it
8
has welcomed more than 6,400 business executives, investors,
9
government officials, and academic leaders to its galas over
10
the years; and

11

WHEREAS, On November 13, 2025, CGCC Chicago will host the
12
CGCC Chicago 9th Annual Gala under the theme, "Apply, Advance,
13
Achieve - Driving Forward Together", and the organization will
14
work to advance dialogue and cooperation by hosting forums on
15
agriculture, artificial intelligence, and building
16
cross-cultural bridges in economic partnerships; therefore, be
17
it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
19
HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
20
we commend the China General Chamber of Commerce Chicago (CGCC
21
Chicago) for its work in facilitating economic cooperation and
22
cultural exchange between the United States and China; and be
23
it further

RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be

presented to CGCC Chicago Chairman Pin Ni and Executive
3
Director Jie Li as an expression of our esteem and respect.
