HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3
Representatives wish to congratulate Whiteside Middle School,
4
the Warriors, on winning the 2025 Southern Illinois Junior
5
High School Athletic Association Class L Baseball State
6
Championship; and

7

WHEREAS, The Warriors compiled a season record of 21 wins
8
and 1 loss; and

9

WHEREAS, The Warriors were victorious over Wolf Branch
10
Middle School (Swansea) 9 to 1 in the regional, Washington
11
Middle School (Johnston City) 1 to 0 in the quarter finals, and
12
Du Quoin Middle School 15 to 2 in the semi-finals to reach the
13
championship game; and

14

WHEREAS, The Warriors claimed the first championship in
15
school history by defeating Waterloo Jr. High School by a
16
score of 7 to 3 in the title game; and

17

WHEREAS, The Warriors are led by Head Coach Troy Griffith
18
and Assistant Coaches Matt Thrune, Mike McGehee, and Sherwin
19
Lockridge; and

20

WHEREAS, The Warriors are Ajani Mitchom, Bently Lindemann,

Dominic Kreiter, Jackson Thrune, Jacob Hataway, Kade Lindley,

Mason McGehee, Maxwell Leroy, Miles Lockridge, Saweera

Puribhat, Tyron Armour, Tyler Rakers, and Yusuf Fares;

therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
6
HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
7
we congratulate Whiteside Middle School, the Warriors, on
8
winning the 2025 Southern Illinois Junior High School Athletic
9
Association Class L Baseball State Championship, and we wish
10
them many more successful seasons; and be it further

11

RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
12
presented to the Warriors' coaches and players as a symbol of
13
our respect and esteem.
