HOUSE RESOLUTION
2
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3
Representatives wish to congratulate Blake Twenhafel on being
4
awarded the 2025 American STAR in Agribusiness by the National
5
Future Farmers of America (FFA) at the 98th National FFA
6
Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana; and
7
WHEREAS, The American STAR Awards represent the best among
8
thousands of American FFA Degree recipients, recognizing FFA
9
members who have developed outstanding agricultural skills and
10
competencies by completing a Supervised Agricultural
11
Experience (SAE) program; and
12
WHEREAS, Blake Twenhafel, a member of the Wesclin FFA in
13
Trenton and a graduate of Kaskaskia College, is currently a
14
junior at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where
15
he majors in crop science; and
16
WHEREAS, Blake Twenhafel began BT Lawn Care by push mowing
17
his first lawn in 2018, which he followed with utilizing
18
extensive marketing strategies on Facebook and generating
19
professional advertising materials; his business was part of
20
his Turf Grass Management SAE, through which the FFA provided
21
him with business development guidance and experience; and

WHEREAS, Blake Twenhafel has led BT Lawn Care as it
2
continues to grow year after year, having built a quality
3
reputation throughout the community and maintained customer
4
satisfaction while further developing BT Lawn Care's brand
5
through strategic marketing; and
6
WHEREAS, Blake Twenhafel has also undertaken employee
7
management as part of the process of owning and operating BT
8
Lawn Care to continue meeting customer demand, hiring his
9
first employees, who were fellow Wesclin FFA members, in 2021;
10
and
11
WHEREAS, Over the course of seven lawn care seasons, Blake
12
Twenhafel has continued to expand BT Lawn Care, a business
13
that serviced over 50 commercial and residential properties
14
throughout Clinton County and the surrounding areas in 2024
15
alone; therefore, be it
16
RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
17
HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
18
we congratulate Blake Twenhafel on being awarded the 2025
19
American STAR in Agribusiness by the National Future Farmers
20
of America (FFA), and we wish him continued success in his
21
endeavors; and be it further
22
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be

presented to Blake Twenhafel as a symbol of our respect and
2
esteem.
