HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3
Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Danny T.
4
Hanning of Huntsville, who passed away on February 11, 2026;
5
and

6

WHEREAS, Danny Hanning was born to Glen and Mary (Bovey)
7
Hanning in Rushville on June 18, 1957; he married Janet in
8
Huntsville on August 24, 1975; and

9

WHEREAS, Danny Hanning served as the commissioner for the
10
Huntsville Township Highway from 1989 until his passing; and

11

WHEREAS, Danny Hanning joined the Township Officials of
12
Illinois (TOI) Board of Directors in 2008, serving on the
13
executive board in 2016 and for two terms as president in 2016
14
and 2022; he also served on the Township Highway Commissioners
15
Board for several years; and

16

WHEREAS, Danny Hanning enjoyed hunting for deer and
17
raccoons, foraging for mushrooms, rocks, and artifacts, and
18
riding four-wheelers, tractors, and side by sides; his
19
favorite time of the year was harvest season, and he was
20
devoted to his family farm, where he raised cattle, hogs, and
21
other animals, grew corn, soybeans, and grains, and baled

thousands of bales of hay; and

WHEREAS, Danny Hanning was a beloved husband, father,
3
grandfather, uncle, and friend to many; his grandchildren and
4
great-grandchildren were the light of his life; and

5

WHEREAS, Danny Hanning was preceded in death by his
6
parents; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; and many coon
7
hounds and friends; and

8

WHEREAS, Danny Hanning is survived by his wife of 50
9
years, Janet; his children, Brandy (Jamie) Orr, Becky (Tom)
10
Luttrell, Sarah (Luke) Hanning-Ludwig, and Andy (Kayla)
11
Hanning; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his
12
siblings, Bonnie Hanning, Peggy Dillon, Nancy Willis, and Rob
13
Hanning; several nieces and nephews; and his close companion,
14
Elsa Mae the Blue Tick Hound; therefore, be it

15

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
16
HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
17
we mourn the passing of Danny T. Hanning and extend our sincere
18
condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
19
him; and be it further

20

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21
presented to the family of Danny Hanning as an expression of
