HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3
Representatives wish to congratulate the Teutopolis High
4
School boys golf team, the Wooden Shoes, on winning the 2025
5
Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Class 1A State
6
Championship; and

7

WHEREAS, The Wooden Shoes claimed their championship, the
8
first golf team in school history to do so, at the Prairie
9
Vista Golf Course in Bloomington from October 10 to October
10
11, 2025; and

11

WHEREAS, The Wooden Shoes shot 623 over the weekend,
12
claiming victory over Fulton High School, Riverdale High
13
School (Port Byron), Westminster Christian School-Harvest
14
Christian Academy (Elgin), Timothy Christian Schools
15
(Elmhurst), Father McGivney Catholic High School (Glen
16
Carbon), Pittsfield High School, and Prairie Central High
17
School (Fairbury); and

18

WHEREAS, Wooden Shoes' senior Coen Pennington won an
19
individual medal during the competition, sharing second place
20
for his score of 146; and

21

WHEREAS, The Wooden Shoes are led by Head Coach Mike

Wilson and Assistant Coaches Manny Wei and Leonard Westendorf;

and

WHEREAS, The Wooden Shoes are Matthew Habing, Owen Kremer,
4
Lane Ohnesorge, Coen Pennington, Kade Pennington, Landyn
5
Thoele, Eli Weber, and Isaac Weber; therefore, be it

6

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
7
HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
8
we congratulate the Teutopolis High School boys golf team, the
9
Wooden Shoes, on winning the 2025 Illinois High School
10
Association (IHSA) Class 1A State Championship, and we wish
11
them many more successful seasons; and be it further

12

RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
13
presented to the Wooden Shoes' players and coaches as a symbol
14
of our respect and esteem.
