HOUSE RESOLUTION
2
WHEREAS, Firefighters, paramedics, and law enforcement
3
officers dedicate their lives to protecting the public,
4
preserving life and property, and maintaining peace and safety
5
within our communities; and
6
WHEREAS, These courageous men and women respond without
7
hesitation to emergencies, disasters, acts of violence, and
8
moments of crisis, often placing themselves in harm's way for
9
the benefit of others; and
10
WHEREAS, Throughout our nation's history, countless first
11
responders have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of
12
duty, leaving behind families, friends, and grateful
13
communities; and
14
WHEREAS, Their bravery, selflessness, and commitment to
15
service embody the highest ideals of public service and
16
reflect the enduring strength and character of our
17
communities; and
18
WHEREAS, It is fitting and proper that the State of
19
Illinois set aside time to honor the memory of those who gave
20
their lives in service, to recognize the sacrifices of their
21
families, and to reaffirm support for those who continue to

serve; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
3
HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
4
we declare June 2026 as Fallen First Responders Month in the
5
State of Illinois in honor of all the firefighters,
6
paramedics, and law enforcement officers who have made the
7
ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty; and be it further
8
RESOLVED, That we encourage citizens to observe this
9
designation with appropriate ceremonies, memorial services,
10
moments of silence, educational programs, and acts of
11
community service to honor the legacy of our fallen heroes;
12
and be it further
13
RESOLVED, That we express our deepest gratitude to the
14
families of the fallen, and we pledge our continued support to
15
the men and women who serve and protect our communities each
16
day.
