HOUSE RESOLUTION
2
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3
Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Patrick
4
Cassidy "Pat" Finn, who passed away on December 22, 2025; and
5
WHEREAS, Pat Finn, the son of Leo and Betty, was born in
6
Wilmette on July 31, 1965; he graduated from Loyola Academy
7
and Marquette University; he married the love of his life
8
Donna Crowley, who was raised in Springfield; and
9
WHEREAS, Pat Finn studied and performed at Second City in
10
Chicago, and he toured with the Second City Touring Company;
11
after moving to Los Angeles, he became a founding member of the
12
renowned iO West improv troupe, Beer Shark Mice; he also
13
served as an adjunct professor and taught Improv for Strategic
14
Communication at the University of Colorado, where he coached,
15
befriended, and mentored countless students throughout the
16
years; and
17
WHEREAS, Pat Finn's first big television role was as
18
George Wendt's brother on The George Wendt Show; he had
19
recurring roles on Murphy Brown, 3rd Rock from the Sun, Ed, and
20
My Boys; he became known for his roles as Joe Mayo on Seinfeld
21
and Dr. Roger on Friends, and he played the character Bill
22
Norwood on the ABC sitcom The Middle from 2010 to 2018; he also

served as the spokesperson and on-air personality known as
2
"Toyota Pat" for Toyota of Arizona; and
3
WHEREAS, Pat Finn was an avid Chicago Bears fan; he was
4
knowledgeable on many subjects, including having memorized all
5
the state capitols and every college football mascot; and
6
WHEREAS, Pat Finn was a positive, loving, and humorous
7
person who never met a stranger; he will be remembered as a
8
prolific character actor and comedian, a dear friend, and a
9
role model to many; and
10
WHEREAS, Patrick Finn is survived by his wife, Donna; his
11
children, Cassidy, Caitlin, and Ryan; his parents; his
12
siblings, Michelle (Henry), Tracy (Judy), Tom (Debbie), Kevin
13
(Francie), and Katie (Matt); his siblings-in-law, Danny
14
(Rebecca), Debbie (Mark), and Dianne (Mark); his many nieces
15
and nephews; his improv family; and his dogs, Addison, Murphy,
16
and Wally; therefore, be it
17
RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
18
HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
19
we mourn the passing of Patrick Cassidy "Pat" Finn and extend
20
our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who
21
knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
2
presented to the family of Pat Finn as an expression of our
3
deepest sympathy.
