HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3
Representatives wish to congratulate Bill Riordan on his
4
retirement as executive director of the Lockport Township Park
5
District; and

6

WHEREAS, Bill Riordan has 23 years of service with the
7
Lockport Township Park District, first as director of business
8
and then the last nine years as executive director; and

9

WHEREAS, Bill Riordan oversaw numerous capital projects,
10
including the development of Brent Hassert Park, the Dellwood
11
Park Community Center, Challenge Fitness, the Prairie Bluff
12
Restaurant, and driving range projects; and

13

WHEREAS, Bill Riordan guided the Lockport Township Park
14
District to the Illinois Association of Park Districts'
15
Distinguished Accreditation and the Government Finance
16
Officers Association's certificate of achievement for
17
excellence in financial reporting; and

18

WHEREAS, Bill Riordan helps support his community as a
19
member of the South Suburban Park & Recreation Professional
20
Association Legislative Committee, the Park District Risk
21
Management Agency Claims Committee, the Northern Will County

Special Recreation Association, the Dellwood Foundation, and
2
the Lockport Rotary Club; and

3

WHEREAS, Bill Riordan enjoys spending time with his wife
4
and three children and has spent countless hours coaching them
5
in sports; therefore, be it

6

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
7
HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
8
we congratulate Bill Riordan on his retirement as executive
9
director of the Lockport Township Park District, thank him for
10
his many years of exceptional service and leadership, and wish
11
him much happiness in his future endeavors; and be it further

12

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13
presented to Bill Riordan as an expression of our esteem and
14
respect.
