HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Registered dietitian nutritionists (RDNs) are
3
food and nutrition experts who translate the science of
4
nutrition into practical solutions for healthy living; and

5

WHEREAS, RDNs hold degrees in nutrition, dietetics, public
6
health, or related fields from accredited colleges and
7
universities, complete supervised practice requirements, and
8
pass a national examination; and

9

WHEREAS, RDNs use their expertise to help individuals make
10
personalized, positive lifestyle changes; and

11

WHEREAS, RDNs serve communities in hospitals, schools,
12
public health clinics, nursing homes, fitness centers,
13
universities, research institutions, private practice, food
14
service management, and the food industry; and

15

WHEREAS, RDNs are advocates for improving the nutritional
16
status of people in the United States and around the world;
17
therefore, be it

18

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
19
HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
20
we declare March 11, 2026 as Registered Dietitian Nutritionist

Day in the State of Illinois; and be it further

RESOLVED, That we encourage all residents of Illinois to
3
recognize the valuable contributions of registered dietitian
4
nutritionists and express our appreciation for their
5
commitment to promoting science-based nutrition to improve
6
health outcomes today and in the future.
