HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Water is an essential resource for sustaining
3
life, promoting public health, and ensuring economic
4
prosperity in Illinois; and

5

WHEREAS, Illinois is uniquely situated as the nucleus of
6
the great Midwest and can demonstrate stewardship in facing
7
ongoing challenges related to water, including lead in water,
8
infrastructure needs, and emerging water quality issues, which
9
require immediate and sustained attention; and

10

WHEREAS, The International Association of Plumbing and
11
Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) is allied with plumbers and
12
manufacturers in Illinois, playing a critical role in
13
addressing water-related challenges by advancing safe and
14
sustainable water systems through the education and advocacy
15
for clean drinking water; and

16

WHEREAS, March4Water Month will serve as a platform for
17
communities, organizations, and governmental agencies to raise
18
awareness about water conservation, equitable access to clean
19
and safe drinking water, and the importance of investing in
20
water infrastructure and sustainability efforts; and

21

WHEREAS, Community engagement and education are critical

to fostering a culture of water stewardship and advancing
2
innovative solutions to Illinois's water challenges; and

3

WHEREAS, The designation of March as March4Water Month
4
highlights the collective need for action, collaboration, and
5
advocacy among policymakers, stakeholders, and residents of
6
Illinois; therefore, be it

7

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
8
HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
9
we declare March of 2026 to be March4Water Month in the State
10
of Illinois; and be it further

11

RESOLVED, That we encourage all Illinoisans to participate
12
in activities and programs during March4Water Month to promote
13
awareness, education, and actions that prioritize water as a
14
vital resource for the state's future; and be it further

15

RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
16
delivered to the International Association of Plumbing and
17
Mechanical Officials.
