HOUSE RESOLUTION
2
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3
Representatives wish to congratulate Jim Wiseman on the
4
occasion of his retirement as executive director of the
5
Northern Illinois Special Recreation Association (NISRA) on
6
May 29, 2026; and
7
WHEREAS, Throughout his illustrious 18-year tenure of
8
visionary leadership, Jim Wiseman has been a steadfast
9
champion of inclusion, tirelessly expanding programs and
10
strengthening community partnerships to ensure that
11
individuals of all ages and ability levels have access to
12
meaningful recreation; and
13
WHEREAS, Under Jim Wiseman's guidance, NISRA has
14
flourished into a thriving organization that serves
15
communities across McHenry, Cook, Lake, and Kane counties,
16
fostering independence, socialization, and skill development
17
for preschoolers, children, teens, and adults alike; and
18
WHEREAS, Jim Wiseman's commitment to excellence is
19
reflected in the numerous accolades NISRA has received during
20
his leadership, including earning the Illinois Association of
21
Park Districts/Illinois Parks and Recreation Distinguished
22
Accreditation award for excellence in parks and recreation and

being named a two-time recipient of the Government Finance
2
Officers Association Certificate of Achievement for Excellence
3
in Financial Reporting; and
4
WHEREAS, Jim Wiseman has built an incredible legacy of
5
compassion and service, ensuring that NISRA remains grounded
6
in its mission to enrich lives while celebrating its landmark
7
50th anniversary; and
8
WHEREAS, Jim Wiseman's transition marks the passing of the
9
torch to his successor, Heidi Jenkins, leaving behind an
10
organization that is structurally sound, highly respected, and
11
deeply valued by the families it serves; therefore, be it
12
RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
13
HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
14
we congratulate Jim Wiseman on his retirement as executive
15
director of the Northern Illinois Special Recreation
16
Association (NISRA), commend him for his 18 years of dedicated
17
service to the disability community, and wish him health and
18
happiness in all his future endeavors; and be it further
19
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20
presented to Jim Wiseman as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
