HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3
Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Ashley
4
Nicole Stenson of St. Louis, Missouri, who passed away on May
5
8, 2026; and

6

WHEREAS, Ashley Stenson was born to Marla Stenson and
7
Marvin Forniss in St. Louis on February 5, 1984; she committed
8
to her faith at an early age under the leadership of the late
9
Rev. Dr. J.E. Turner in St. Louis; she attended schools in both
10
St. Louis and Peoria, Illinois, and she completed her high
11
school career by receiving her General Education Diploma; and

12

WHEREAS, Ashley Stenson was a hardworking and dedicated
13
woman who worked in a variety of fields, developing many
14
skills throughout her life; most recently, she was employed at
15
Devoted Healthcare in Atlanta, Georgia, where she served as a
16
member outreach specialist; and

17

WHEREAS, Ashley Stenson never met a stranger, was known as
18
the life of the party, and had a way of making everyone feel
19
welcome, bringing laughter, warmth, and energy wherever she
20
went; she was also deeply loyal to those she loved and had a
21
special love for her children and grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Ashley Stenson possessed a fun and infectious
2
personality that brought joy to those around her, and she will
3
be remembered for her vibrant spirit and kind heart; and

4

WHEREAS, Ashley Stenson was preceded in death by her
5
father, Marvin Forniss; her brother, Antonio Stenson; her
6
maternal great-grandparents, Eugene and Geraldine Stenson and
7
Guy and Emma Lee Washington; and her paternal grandparents,
8
Celestine Forniss and Reverend J.E. Turner; and

9

WHEREAS, Ashley Stenson is survived by her mother, Marla
10
Marbley; her sons, Ashton (Nick) Bramlett and Ira Johnson; her
11
daughter, Kennedy Stenson; three grandchildren; her sisters,
12
Angel Stenson and Andrea Marbley; her maternal grandmother,
13
Mary Francis Turner; her grandfathers, Thomas Lee (Joanne)
14
Cayson Sr. and Howard Forniss; and a host of aunts, uncles,
15
nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends; therefore, be it

16

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
17
HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
18
we mourn the passing of Ashley Nicole Stenson and extend our
19
sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew
20
and loved her; and be it further

21

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
22
presented to the family of Ashley Stenson as an expression of
