HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3
Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Kenneth
4
Louis Morgan Sr., who passed away on June 13, 2026; and

5

WHEREAS, Kenneth Morgan was born in Chicago on November
6
27, 1961, the youngest of four children born to Paul and Louise
7
Morgan, and raised in Chicago's Englewood community; he
8
attended John P. Altgeld Elementary School and graduated from
9
Chicago Vocational High School; and

10

WHEREAS, Kenneth Morgan was a dedicated lifelong learner
11
and pursued higher education at Prairie View A&M University in
12
Prairie View, Texas and Western Illinois University in Macomb
13
before earning a Master of Arts in Psychology from Chicago
14
State University in 1999; and

15

WHEREAS, Kenneth Morgan's faith was important to him, and
16
he lived according to the principles of peace, love, honesty,
17
joy, hope, and compassion, serving as an example to those
18
around him through his character and actions; and

19

WHEREAS, Kenneth Morgan met Kimberly in 1986, the woman
20
who would become his lifelong partner and best friend; after
21
years of building a strong foundation of love, commitment, and

friendship, they were united in marriage in 2000 and together
2
raised three sons, Walter, Kenneth Jr., and Anthony; and

3

WHEREAS, Kenneth Morgan dedicated his professional life to
4
serving others and strengthening his community; he served as
5
an administrative assistant to an elected official in
6
Chicago's 16th Ward and later devoted 28 years of
7
distinguished service to the University of Illinois Chicago,
8
where he was respected for his professionalism, integrity,
9
knowledge, and unwavering commitment to students, faculty,
10
staff, and the institution's mission; and

11

WHEREAS, Kenneth Morgan was affectionately known as
12
"Biscuit" and found great joy in sports, particularly football
13
and basketball, and treasured time spent with his family,
14
friends, and grandchildren, creating memories that will be
15
cherished for generations; and

16

WHEREAS, Kenneth Morgan leaves behind a legacy of faith,
17
perseverance, service, and devotion to family; and

18

WHEREAS, Kenneth Morgan was preceded in death by his
19
parents and his siblings, Anthony, Anita, and Paul Morgan; and

20

WHEREAS, Kenneth Morgan is survived by his beloved wife,
21
Kimberly Morgan; his sons, Kenneth (Carla) Jr., Anthony

(Jasmine), and Walter Morgan; his grandchildren, Taylor,
2
Kenneth III, Kamille, and Aniylah (Josiah); and numerous
3
brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended
4
family members, friends, and the many faculty, staff,
5
students, and colleagues whose lives he touched through the
6
University of Illinois Chicago Cooperative Extension Service,
7
Urban Health Program, College of Medicine, and College of
8
Applied Health Sciences; therefore, be it

9

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
10
HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
11
we mourn the passing of Kenneth Louis Morgan Sr. and extend our
12
sincere condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, and
13
all who knew and loved him; and be it further

14

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15
presented to the family of Kenneth Morgan as an expression of
16
our deepest sympathy.
