HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3
Representatives wish to congratulate the St. Joseph-Ogden High
4
School boys baseball team, the Spartans, on winning the 2026
5
IHSA Class 2A State Championship; and

6

WHEREAS, The Spartans defeated Marshall High School,
7
Bismarck Henning High School, Tri-Valley High School (Downs),
8
Unity High School (Tolono), Williamsville High School,
9
Marquette Academy (Ottawa), and River Valley Christian School
10
on their way to the first championship in school history for
11
the boys baseball team; and

12

WHEREAS, The Spartans compiled a regular season record of
13
40 wins and two losses on their way to the title; and

14

WHEREAS, The Spartans victory in the state championship
15
also marks the first time a Champaign County baseball program
16
has won a state title since IHSA tournament first began in
17
1940; and

18

WHEREAS, The Spartans are Finn Miller, Kodey McKinney,
19
Jameson Ehler, Dalton York, Will Haley, Tyler Wright, Trevor
20
Ames, Owen Wall, Hunter Cler, Asher Pruemer, Parker Fitch,
21
Logan Rosenthal, Branson Pearman, Nolan Franzen, Bryson

Houchens, Kiptyn Rosenthal, Liam Carter, and Cam Schluter; and

WHEREAS, The Spartans are coached by Josh Haley, Mitch
3
Pruemer, Steve Hoosen, Jaden Miller, Crayton Burnett, and Kody
4
Haas and managed by Cameron Kuchenbrod; the team statisticians
5
are Addie Brooks, Gracyn Sjoken, and Charlee Christians; and

6

WHEREAS, The Spartans have several players who are part of
7
2026's all-state baseball teams, including Trevor Ames, Bryson
8
Houchens, and Asher Pruemer; therefore, be it

9

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
10
HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
11
we congratulate the St. Joseph-Ogden High School boys baseball
12
team, the Spartans, on winning the 2026 IHSA Class 2A State
13
Championship, and we wish them many more successful seasons;
14
and be it further

15

RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
16
presented to the Spartan players and coaches as a symbol of our
17
respect and esteem.
