HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3
Representatives wish to congratulate the Rotary Club of Mount
4
Carroll on the occasion of its 40th anniversary; and

5

WHEREAS, The Rotary Club of Mount Carroll has been a
6
community staple since its founding in 1986; and

7

WHEREAS, The Rotary Club of Mount Carroll has worked
8
tirelessly to improve the city, raising and providing funds
9
for local infrastructure as well as donating to and supporting
10
local food pantries, youth development initiatives, and
11
various local organizations; and

12

WHEREAS, The Rotary Club of Mount Carroll is passionate
13
about the community's first responders, hosting meals and
14
other events for local police officers, city workers, and
15
members of the local fire, ambulance, and 911 dispatch
16
departments; and

17

WHEREAS, The Rotary Club of Mount Carroll also hosts
18
events for the community as a whole, including bingo nights,
19
trivia nights, and raffles; and

20

WHEREAS, The Rotary Club of Mount Carroll's mission is to

serve others, promote integrity, and advance world
2
understanding, goodwill, and peace through the fellowship of
3
business, professional, and community leaders; and

4

WHEREAS, The Rotary Club of Mount Carroll's purpose is to
5
see a world where people unite and take action to create
6
lasting change across the globe, in their communities, and in
7
themselves; and

8

WHEREAS, "Service Above Self" is the principal motto of
9
Rotary Club because it best conveys the philosophy of
10
unselfish volunteer service; and

11

WHEREAS, After 40 years of service, the Rotary Club of
12
Mount Carroll continues to make a difference in its community,
13
providing opportunities to volunteer, organizing social
14
events, and spreading awareness of local and global issues;
15
therefore, be it

16

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
17
HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
18
we congratulate the Rotary Club of Mount Carroll on its 40th
19
anniversary, and we commend its contributions to the community
20
and the selflessness of its members; and be it further

21

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
