SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

20 ILCS 105/8.14 new

Amends the Illinois Act on the Aging. Requires the Department on
Aging, in consultation with the Office of the Attorney General, to provide
updated resources related to scam calls and robocalls on the Department's
public website. Provides that the resources shall include, but not be
limited to, (1) information on predatory scam calls that utilize AI to
mislead the call recipient and (2) access to a scam call hotline number
where call recipients may report predatory calls.

AN ACT concerning State government.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5.
The Illinois Act on the Aging is amended by

adding Section 8.14 as follows:

(20 ILCS 105/8.14 new)

Sec. 8.14.
Updated resources on scam calls and robocalls.

The Department, in consultation with the Office of the

Attorney General, shall provide updated resources related to

scam calls and robocalls on the Department's public website.

The resources to be provided shall include, but not be limited
12
to, (1) information on predatory scam calls which utilize AI
13
to mislead the call recipient and (2) access to a scam call
14
hotline number where call recipients may report predatory
15
calls.
