SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3
to learn of the death of Alice M. (Ondrla) Dunn of Oak Park,
4
who passed away on October 11, 2025 at the age of 83; and

5

WHEREAS, Alice Dunn was born on September 11, 1942; and

6

WHEREAS, Alice Dunn devoted her life to educating
7
children, beginning at Hiawatha School in Berwyn until she
8
became a mother in 1974; and

9

WHEREAS, Alice Dunn stayed home to raise her daughters
10
before returning to education through the Park District of Oak
11
Park's preschool program, and she concluded her career in
12
education while teaching second grade at Ascension School in
13
Oak Park after more than 20 years; and

14

WHEREAS, Alice Dunn was an avid gardener with a fondness
15
for orchids, possessing the skill set to keep the most
16
beautiful of them in bloom; and

17

WHEREAS, Alice Dunn enjoyed keeping her door open with a
18
warm welcome and a tray of homemade cookies, which she also
19
used as bait to ensure visits from her grandsons and all the
20
children in the neighborhood; and

WHEREAS, Alice Dunn, a diehard White Sox fan, watched
2
every game the team played, even during the 2024 season; and

3

WHEREAS, Alice Dunn was also a longtime parishioner at
4
Ascension Church, where she enjoyed being part of the church
5
community and attending Mass every Sunday; and

6

WHEREAS, Alice Dunn is survived by her husband of 53
7
years, Robert A. Dunn; her daughters, Julieann (Michael)
8
Hedges and Megan Dunn; her grandsons, Brady, Jack and Dylan
9
Hedges; her brother, Thomas (Christine) Ondrla; her nieces and
10
nephews, Jennifer, Joseph, Mark, Alex, Caitlin, Moira, and
11
Robert; her friend and childhood soulmate, Sharon Wisinski;
12
and countless others; therefore, be it

13

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
14
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
15
Alice M. (Ondrla) Dunn and extend our sincere condolences to
16
her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
17
further

18

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19
presented to the family of Alice Dunn as an expression of our
20
deepest sympathy.
