SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3
to learn of the death of Lynnie Rebecca Taylor of Shiloh, who
4
passed away on February 17, 2026; and

5

WHEREAS, Lynnie Taylor was born to Leslie Taylor Sr. and
6
Mae Reather (Jackson) Taylor in East St. Louis on September
7
28, 1965; she embraced her faith at an early age and became a
8
lifelong member of her family's church, the House of Prayer;
9
she attended Monroe Elementary School, Cannady Elementary
10
School, Rock Junior High School, and East St. Louis Senior
11
High School, graduating in 1983, and studied early childhood
12
development at Southwestern Illinois College, formerly
13
Belleville Area College; and

14

WHEREAS, Lynnie Taylor began working at Scott Air Force
15
Base immediately following high school; she was adored by
16
coworkers and patrons alike and enjoyed a long, gratifying
17
career in culinary arts; and

18

WHEREAS, Lynnie Taylor enjoyed traveling with her family,
19
playing friendly card games, and spending time in the park
20
with her grandchildren, and she loved celebrating the
21
holidays, especially Christmas; and

WHEREAS, Lynnie Taylor, affectionately known as "Bayboo"
2
by family and friends, will be remembered for her cheerful
3
energy and beautiful, loving smile; and

4

WHEREAS, Lynnie Taylor was preceded in death by her
5
parents and her brothers, Ramon Taylor, Rodney Taylor, and
6
Alander Taylor; and

7

WHEREAS, Lynnie Taylor is survived by her sons, DeAndre
8
(Conswayla) Taylor and Darryl Cathion Jr.; her daughter,
9
Dariel Cathion; her sisters, Eloise Taylor, Sharon Taylor, and
10
Marie Taylor; her brothers, Ethereal Taylor, Jacques Taylor,
11
and Leslie Taylor Jr.; her uncle, Willie Jackson; ten
12
grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends;
13
therefore, be it

14

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
15
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
16
Lynnie Rebecca Taylor and extend our sincere condolences to
17
her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
18
further

19

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20
presented to the family of Lynnie Taylor as an expression of
21
our deepest sympathy.
