SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3
to learn of the death of Ellen Clare Hamaker of Lehigh Acres,
4
Florida, who passed away on February 28, 2026; and

5

WHEREAS, Ellen Hamaker, the daughter of Celestine and Otis
6
Hunter, was born in Decatur on August 7, 1965; she graduated
7
from Sacred Heart Academy in 1983, and she married Kory
8
Hamaker on May 3, 2003; and

9

WHEREAS, Ellen Hamaker found her calling in helping other
10
women find recovery; and

11

WHEREAS, Ellen Hamaker loved spending time with her
12
husband and their son, Avery Lane Hamaker; and

13

WHEREAS, Ellen Hamaker lived a life full of kindness,
14
laughter, and love that touched everyone fortunate enough to
15
know her; and

16

WHEREAS, Ellen Hamaker was preceded in death by her
17
parents and her parents-in-law, Barb and Don Hamaker; and

18

WHEREAS, Ellen Hamaker is survived by her siblings, David
19
(Valerie) Hunter, Greg (Connie) Hunter, Mark (Mary Simmons)

Hunter, Patrick (Sandy) Hunter, Sean (Sue) Hunter, Todd

Hunter, Ann (Michael) Holmes, and many nieces, nephews,

great-nieces, and great-nephews whom she loved deeply;

therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
6
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7
Ellen Clare Hamaker and extend our sincere condolences to her
8
family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
9
further

10

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11
presented to the family of Ellen Hamaker as an expression of
12
our deepest sympathy.
