SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3
to learn of the death of Earl Ferguson, who passed away on
4
April 2, 2026; and

5

WHEREAS, Earl Ferguson was born in Springfield to Earl M.
6
and Evelyn (Carroll) Ferguson on October 8, 1956; he attended
7
Athens High School; he married Mary Hill on December 28, 1978;
8
and

9

WHEREAS, Earl Ferguson, after high school, was a proud
10
union member of Local 178, where he was a welder; and

11

WHEREAS, Earl Ferguson loved the outdoors and was an avid
12
fan of the Cleveland Browns; his favorite things were fishing,
13
hunting, gardening, cooking, and spending time with family,
14
friends, and his best buddies, Micah and Vinny; and

15

WHEREAS, Earl Ferguson was preceded in death by his
16
parents and his sisters, Brenda Papin, Linda Pedigo, and Lou
17
Ann McCleary; and

18

WHEREAS, Earl Ferguson is survived by his wife, Mary; his
19
children, Teresa (Greg) Ferguson, Tanya (James) Walsh, and
20
Joshua Ferguson; his brother, Timothy (Lisa) Ferguson; his

sister, Sandra (David) LeMaster; his brother-in-law, Kerry
2
Pedigo; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and his
3
grandsons, Micah Powell and Vinny Walsh; therefore, be it

4

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
5
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6
Earl Ferguson and extend our sincere condolences to his
7
family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
8
further

9

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10
presented to the family of Earl Ferguson as a symbol of our
11
deepest sympathy.
