SENATE RESOLUTION
2
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3
to learn of the death of Gary G. Krueger, who passed away on
4
April 21, 2026; and
5
WHEREAS, Gary Krueger, the son of Anthony "Tony" and
6
Glennon (Myers) Krueger, was born in Alton on November 3,
7
1950; he graduated from Jersey Community High School in 1968
8
and attended Western Illinois University; he married Rhonda
9
Mary Beiser at Delhi Baptist Church on February 6, 1971, and
10
she preceded him in death on October 26, 2025; and
11
WHEREAS, Gary Krueger was a lifelong farmer and later
12
retired as a supervisor with the Illinois Department of
13
Transportation; and
14
WHEREAS, Gary Krueger was a member of the Jersey County
15
Board, previously serving as vice chairman and chairman;
16
during his tenure, he also served as chair of the Economic
17
Development and Tourism, Liquor Control, and Personnel
18
Committees; he served as a Mississippi Township trustee and
19
was a member of the Jersey County Board of Review, the Jersey
20
County Rural Water Board, and the Soil and Water Board; he
21
served as chairman of the Jersey County Republican Committee;
22
he was a past member of the Elks Lodge and the Loyal Order of

Moose; and
2
WHEREAS, Gary Krueger enjoyed working in his shop, where
3
he built his own barbecue grill and smoker; he cherished
4
traveling with his wife and especially enjoyed their annual
5
trips to Branson and visits with their grandchildren in the
6
South; and
7
WHEREAS, Gary Krueger was preceded in death by his
8
parents; his sister, Barbara Long, and her spouse, Spencer;
9
and his brothers-in-law, Ed Holzworth and George Welch; and
10
WHEREAS, Gary Krueger is survived by his sons, Benjamin
11
(Lynn) Krueger and Christopher Curt (Stephanie) Krueger; his
12
daughter, Carisa (Kyle) Cook; his grandchildren, Devon
13
(Victoria) Krueger, Riley Krueger, Hayley Krueger, Alexander
14
Krueger, Brady Cook, Levi Cook, and Cailyn Cook; his
15
great-grandchildren, Valerie Krueger and Henry Krueger; his
16
siblings, Sue Holzworth, Donna (Marion) Phipps, Linda (Tony
17
Kent) Krueger, Martha Welch, and Marilyn Woelfel; and many
18
extended family members and friends; therefore, be it
19
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
20
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
21
Gary G. Krueger and extend our sincere condolences to his
22
family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be

presented to the family of Gary Krueger as an expression of our
4
deepest sympathy.
