SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3
congratulate Carol Gieske on the occasion of her retirement
4
from the Elgin Area Chamber of Commerce; and

5

WHEREAS, Carol Gieske has spent years serving the business
6
community as president and CEO of the Elgin Area Chamber of
7
Commerce; and

8

WHEREAS, Carol Gieske strengthened the chamber's impact,
9
advanced economic development initiatives, and positioned the
10
organization as a vital resource and connector for local
11
businesses; and

12

WHEREAS, Carol Gieske's leadership has guided the chamber
13
through growth, innovation, and meaningful community
14
engagement; and

15

WHEREAS, Carol Gieske has received numerous honors for her
16
impact and leadership, reflecting a career defined by service,
17
collaboration, and measurable results that have strengthened
18
the greater Elgin area; and

19

WHEREAS, Carol Gieske, prior to her work with the chamber,
20
led the Saint Joseph Hospital Foundation, where she oversaw a

highly successful capital campaign that raised more than $11
2
million for major healthcare expansions; she also served as
3
CEO of the United Way of Elgin, helping raise more than $44
4
million during her tenure to support local social service
5
organizations; and

WHEREAS, Carol Gieske continues to serve on multiple
7
boards and initiatives advancing education, healthcare,
8
community service, and leadership development, underscoring
9
her long-standing commitment to the community; therefore, be
10
it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
12
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Carol
13
Gieske on her retirement from the Elgin Area Chamber of
14
Commerce, and we wish her the best in all her future endeavors;
15
and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17
presented to Carol Gieske as a symbol of our respect and
18
esteem.
