SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3
to learn of the death of Judith "Judy" Georgantas, who passed
4
away on April 26, 2026; and

5

WHEREAS, Judith Georgantas was born to George and
6
Olga(Malnar) Boban on August 29, 1938; and

7

WHEREAS, Judith Georgantas' two careers included being a
8
travel agent with Joliet Travel and Karner Travel, and then in
9
1985, she added real estate, working for Karges; and

10

WHEREAS, Judith Georgantas and her husband enjoyed
11
traveling around the world with family and friends, and from
12
1981 to 1998 she escorted groups all over the world through the
13
College of St. Francis (now USF) continuing education nursing
14
program; and

15

WHEREAS, Judith Georgantas and her husband loved to
16
entertain and were known for some of the best parties,
17
including "the cornfest", which became an annual event; they
18
also never missed a sporting event or school function for
19
their grandchildren; they enjoyed music, spending time with
20
their grand-dog, Daisy, and volunteering for many years for
21
the Jubilation festival, where they were co-chairs of the 1986

event; and

WHEREAS, Judith Georgantas was a long time lector at St.
3
Mary Nativity and on the parish picnic committee; and

4

WHEREAS, Judith Georgantas was preceded in death by her
5
husband, Richard J. "Dick" Georgantas; her parents; her
6
brother, Richard Boban; her in-laws, Anthony and Margaret
7
Georgantas; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob and Gloria
8
Georgantas, Betty Bick, George and Georgetta Georgantas,
9
Clarence "Teak" and Terry Georgantas, Lorraine and Dave
10
A'Hearn, and Don Georgantas; her aunts and uncles, Sylvia
11
Malnar, Ray and Gloria Malnar, Bernie and Carole Malnar, Marie
12
and Augie Krause, Don and Lela Boban, Melvin and Gretchen
13
Boban, and Joe and Dorothy Boban Sr.; and her friends, Jean
14
Konrad, Joann Placher, and Joyce Senffner; and

15

WHEREAS, Judith Georgantas is survived by her daughter,
16
Sue (Jim) Gulas; her grandchildren, Jenny and Nick Gulas; her
17
brother, George F. "Geordie" (Carol) Boban; her
18
sisters-in-law, Christine Boban and Connie A'Hearn; and
19
numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors; therefore,
20
be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
22
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of

Judith "Judy" Georgantas and extend our sincere condolences to
2
her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
3
further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
5
presented to the family of Judith Georgantas as a symbol of our
6
deepest sympathy.
