SENATE RESOLUTION
2
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3
congratulate Alexa C. Jordan and Trisha N. Prabhu on their
4
selection as Knight-Hennessy Scholars at Stanford University;
5
and
6
WHEREAS, The Knight-Hennessy Scholars program is one of
7
the most prestigious graduate fellowship programs in the
8
United States and identifies potential scholars who
9
demonstrate independence of thought, purposeful leadership,
10
and a civic mindset; and
11
WHEREAS, Alexa Jordan and Trisha Prabhu graduated summa
12
cum laude from Metea Valley High School and Neuqua Valley High
13
School, respectively, in 2018; and
14
WHEREAS, Alexa Jordan was awarded the Metea Social Studies
15
Department Award, the Metea Valley LIFE Award, the Exchange
16
Club of Naperville's Youth of the Year Award, and the Mayor of
17
Aurora's Service Above Self Award; and
18
WHEREAS, Trisha Prabhu was elected the first female Youth
19
Governor of the Illinois YMCA Youth and Government program in
20
28 years, was awarded the Neuqua Social Studies Department
21
Award and the full-tuition Bryan Cameron Impact Scholarship,

and graduated with a perfect ACT score; and
2
WHEREAS, Alexa Jordan and Trisha Prabhu both graduated
3
summa cum laude from Harvard University, earning numerous
4
academic honors during their studies, including recognition as
5
two of the top 24 graduating seniors in the Harvard Class of
6
2022 as Phi Beta Kappa Scholars; and
7
WHEREAS, Alexa Jordan earned a master's degree from the
8
University of Oxford, where she was a Harvard-UK Knox Fellow;
9
and
10
WHEREAS, Trisha Prabhu earned two master's degrees from
11
the University of Oxford, where she was a United States Rhodes
12
Scholar; she is now continuing her academic pursuits at Yale
13
Law School, where she is earning her Juris Doctor; and
14
WHEREAS, Alexa Jordan and Trisha Prabhu continue to serve
15
as role models for young women in the State of Illinois and the
16
youth of Indian Prairie School District #204; therefore, be it
17
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
18
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Alexa
19
C. Jordan and Trisha N. Prabhu on their selection as
20
Knight-Hennessy Scholars at Stanford University, where Alexa
21
Jordan will pursue her Juris Doctor and Trisha Prabhu will

pursue her Master of Business Administration; and be it
2
further
3
RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
4
presented to Alexa Jordan and Trisha Prabhu as a symbol of our
5
respect and esteem.
