SENATE RESOLUTION

2

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3
to learn of the death of Linda Joyce Hanback of Yorkville, who
4
passed away on May 6, 2026; and

5

WHEREAS, Linda Hanback, the daughter of Howard and Joyce
6
(Rohden) Johnson, was born in Rockford on May 24, 1954; she
7
married Danny Clark "Dan" Hanback in Helmar Lutheran Church in
8
Newark on March 6, 1971; and

9

WHEREAS, Linda Hanback worked as a respiratory therapist,
10
serving those under her care for nearly ten years; she spent
11
most of her life serving in the home by faithfully loving her
12
husband and helping raise their three children; and

13

WHEREAS, Linda Hanback was passionate about the mission of
14
Compassion International, which shares the hope of the gospel
15
in word and action, releasing children from poverty; she
16
relished the opportunity to travel with the nonprofit
17
organization to serve in the community and to love children
18
and families impacted by these programs; and

19

WHEREAS, Linda Hanback was a longtime member of Helmar
20
Lutheran Church, where she had many friends, hosted Bible
21
studies, and served in various capacities; and

WHEREAS, Linda Hanback loved her family and adored
2
building a special relationship with each of her
3
grandchildren; she also enjoyed gardening, traveling with her
4
husband, playing competitive pickleball, and spending time
5
with her family, neighbors, and friends; and

6

WHEREAS, Linda Hanback was a loving wife, mother,
7
grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt who was known for
8
being kindhearted, fearless, and humble; she will be
9
remembered as a woman of faith who served others selflessly
10
with great strength and wisdom; and

11

WHEREAS, Linda Hanback was preceded in death by her
12
father; and

13

WHEREAS, Linda Hanback is survived by her husband of 55
14
years, Dan; her children, Scott (Amanda) Hanback, Corey
15
(Janell) Hanback, and Amanda (Keith) Pfeifer; ten
16
grandchildren; her mother; her brothers, Bill (Lori) Johnson,
17
Phil (Julie) Johnson, and Tom (Sheila) Johnson; and many
18
nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

19

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
20
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
21
Linda Joyce Hanback and extend our sincere condolences to her

family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
2
further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
4
presented to the family of Linda Hanback as an expression of
5
our deepest sympathy.
