SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3
to learn of the death of Dorothy (Burton) Lugibill of
4
Williamsville, who passed away on May 13, 2026; and

5

WHEREAS, Dorothy Lugibill, the daughter of Tobe and Ruth
6
Frances (Fannie) Burton, was born near Sherman on January 2,
7
1930; she married Paul Lugibill in Williamsville on June 27,
8
1948, and he preceded her in death on June 9, 2009; and

9

WHEREAS, Dorothy Lugibill was a lifelong member of the
10
Williamsville United Methodist Church as well as the
11
Williamsville United Methodist Women; and

12

WHEREAS, Dorothy Lugibill enjoyed knitting for charities,
13
riding her scooter around town, socializing, attending horse
14
shows, and spending time with her family; she was also an
15
enthusiastic Williamsville Bullets fan; and

16

WHEREAS, Dorothy Lugibill was preceded in death by 12
17
siblings; and

18

WHEREAS, Dorothy Lugibill is survived by her children,
19
Barb (Larry) Carter, Glenn Lugibill, Linda (Ed Ward) May,
20
Paula Riser, and Vince (Karen) Lugibill; six grandchildren;

nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and
2
several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
4
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5
Dorothy (Burton) Lugibill and extend our sincere condolences
6
to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be
7
it further

8

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9
presented to the family of Dorothy Lugibill as an expression
10
of our deepest sympathy.
