SENATE RESOLUTION

2

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3
to learn of the death of Kathleen Stacy (Boynton) Holland of
4
Frankfort, who passed away on April 4, 2026 at the age of 72;
5
and

6

WHEREAS, Stacy Holland was born in Bellingham, Washington
7
on February 18, 1949; she graduated from Bellingham High
8
School and earned a bachelor's degree in history from the
9
University of Washington and a master's degree in school
10
administration from Lewis University; and

11

WHEREAS, Stacy Holland dedicated 23 years of distinguished
12
service as director of community relations for Lincoln-Way
13
High School District 210, where she was instrumental in
14
launching the Lincoln-Way Foundation for Educational
15
Excellence, raising millions of dollars to support students
16
and teachers while building strong connections between the
17
schools and the community; and

18

WHEREAS, Stacy Holland was a lifelong advocate for
19
education and previously served on the Placentia Yorba Linda
20
School Board in California, where she helped significantly
21
improve third-grade reading scores; and

WHEREAS, Stacy Holland was involved in numerous civic and
2
cultural organizations, including the Illinois Philharmonic
3
Orchestra, the New Lenox Rotary Club, the Suburban Service
4
League, the Silver Cross Hospital Foundation, and the League
5
of Women Voters, always living by the Rotary motto of "Service
6
Above Self"; and

7

WHEREAS, Stacy Holland was the devoted and loving wife of
8
Jim Holland, who served as mayor of Frankfort, and was the
9
strategic force and political powerhouse behind his successful
10
campaigns for Frankfort trustee and mayor; and

11

WHEREAS, Stacy Holland was known for her warmth,
12
positivity, cheerful spirit, and ability to bring people
13
together, and she enriched every community she served and
14
touched countless lives through her dedication and kindness;
15
and

16

WHEREAS, Stacy Holland was the devoted wife of 55 years of
17
Jim; the loving mother of her two sons, Benjamin (Beverly) and
18
David (Nancy); the proud grandmother of Nikolai; and the
19
cherished sister of David (Jennifer) Boynton; therefore, be it

20

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
21
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
22
Kathleen Stacy (Boynton) Holland and extend our sincere

condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
2
her; and be it further

3

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
4
presented to the family of Stacy Holland as an expression of
5
our deepest sympathy and respect.
