subsection:

A

peace

officer

may

file

a

petition

under

subsection

1

on

behalf

of

a

person

if

that

person

claims

to

be

in

present

danger

of

domestic

abuse

and

the

person

5

requests

the

peace

officer

to

submit

the

petition.

EXPLANATION

inclusion

this

explanation

does

not

constitute

agreement

with

the

explanation’s

substance

by

the

members

of

the

general

assembly.

This

bill

allows

a

peace

officer

to

file

a

petition

to

receive

a

72-hour

emergency

protective

order

on

a

person’s

behalf

if

the

person

claims

to

be

in

present

danger

of

domestic

abuse

and

the

person

requests

the

peace

officer

to

submit

the

13

petition.
