AN ACT
RELATING TO CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES, INCLUDING CERTAIN CONTROLLED
SUBSTANCES SCHEDULES AND PRECURSOR SUBSTANCES REPORTING
REQUIREMENTS, MAKING PENALTIES APPLICABLE, AND INCLUDING
EFFECTIVE DATE PROVISIONS.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:
Section 1. Section 124.204, subsection 2, Code 2025, is
amended by adding the following new paragraphs:
NEW PARAGRAPH. cq. 2-methyl-N-(1-phenethylpiperidin-4-
yl)-N-phenylbutanamide. Other name: alpha Methyl butyryl
fentanyl.
NEW PARAGRAPH. cr. N-(1-(2,5-
dimethoxyphenethyl)piperidin-4-yl)-N-phenylpropionamide. Other
name: 2",5 Dimethoxyfentanyl.

NEW PARAGRAPH. cz. 1-(2-methyl-4-(3-phenylprop-2-en-1-
yl)piperazin-l-yl)butan-l-one. Other name: 2- Methyl AP- 237.
NEW PARAGRAPH. da. 2-(2-(4-ethoxybenzyl)-lH-
benzimidazol-l-yl)-N,N-diethylethan-l-amine. Other names:
etodesnitazene; etazene.
NEW PARAGRAPH. db. 2-(4-ethoxybenzyl)-5-nitro-l-(2-
(pyrrolidin-l-yl)ethyl)-1H-benzimidazole. Other names: N-
pyrrolidino etonitazene; etonitazepyne.
NEW PARAGRAPH. dc. N,N-diethyl-2-(5-nitro-2-(4-

Sec. 7. Section 124.210, subsection 3, Code 2025, is amended
by adding the following new paragraph:
NEW PARAGRAPH. bb. Zuranolone.
Sec. 8. Section 124B.2, subsection 1, paragraphs y and ad,
Code 2025, are amended to read as follows:
y. Iodine in concentrations greater than 2.2 percent.
ad. N-phenylpiperidin-4-amine(4-anilinopiperidine;
N-phenyl-4-piperidinamine; 4- AP), its amides, its carbamates,
a- x- d its halides, its salts, and any combination thereof,
whenever the existence of such is possible.
Sec. 9. Section 124B.6, Code 2025, is amended by adding the
following new subsection:
NEW SUBSECTION. 5. A sale, transfer, furnishing, or
receipt of a chemical mixture identified as exempt by federal
regulation.
