federal

prosecutor,

representative

the

redact

Sec.

3.

SECRETARY

OF

STATE

RECOMMENDATIONS.

By

November

1,

2026,

the

secretary

of

state

shall

submit

recommendations

to

16

the

general

assembly

on

how

to

protect

information

containing

17

the

personal

residence

of

those

seeking

election

while

at

the

18

same

time

verifying

the

candidate’s

place

of

residence

for

the

19

purpose

of

meeting

any

applicable

residency

requirement.

EXPLANATION

The

inclusion

of

this

explanation

does

not

constitute

agreement

with

22

the

explanation’s

substance

by

the

members

of

the

general

assembly.

Under

current

law,

a

peace

officer,

a

civilian

employee

of

a

24

law

enforcement

agency,

a

state

or

federal

judicial

officer,

25

or

state

or

federal

prosecutor

may

request

their

name

be

26

redacted

from

documents

made

public

by

the

county

assessor

27

or

county

recorder.

This

bill

adds

United

States

senators,

28

representatives

to

Congress,

statewide

elected

officials,

and

29

members

of

the

general

assembly

to

this

list

of

people.

The

bill

requires

the

secretary

of

the

state

to

submit

recommendations

to

the

general

assembly

on

how

to

information

the

personal
