parkway

planning

commission

shall

members

The

parkway

commission

shall

submit

a

report

regarding

the

economic

impact

of

the

great

river

road

on

this

state

on

or

before

December

15

each

year

to

the

general

assembly

and

to

the

governor.

SUBSECTION

.

1B.

The

parkway

commission

may

establish

a

technical

committee

to

advise

the

commission.

If

established,

members

of

the

committee

must

include

at

least

one

employee

each

from

the

departments

of

transportation

and

agriculture

consumer

commission

may

request

the

bill

renames

the

commission

to

the

Mississippi

river

parkway

commission

(MRPC)

and

requires

the

10

members

to

each

12

reside

in

a

different

county

adjacent

to

the

Mississippi

river

13

in

Iowa.

Current

law

requires

seven

advisory,

ex

officio

members

15

to

serve

on

the

MRPC,

one

each

from

the

state

transportation

16

commission,

the

natural

resource

commission,

the

state

17

soil

conservation

and

water

quality

committee,

the

state

18

historical

society

of

Iowa,

the

faculty

of

the

landscape

19

architectural

division

of

the

Iowa

state

university

of

science

20

and

technology,

the

economic

development

authority,

and

the

21

environmental

protection

commission.

The

bill

instead

requires

22

four

advisory,

ex

officio

members,

one

member

each

from

the

state

department

of

transportation,

the

natural

historical

Iowa.

The

bill

requires

the

MRPC

to
