paragraph:

Prohibit

any

increase

in

the

amount

of

tuition

charged

by

an

institution

of

higher

education

under

the

board’s

control

to

resident

undergraduate

students

on

or

after

the

effective

date

of

this

Act.

This

paragraph

is

repealed

6

July

1,

2031.

Sec.

2.

EFFECTIVE

DATE.

This

Act,

being

deemed

of

immediate

8

importance,

takes

effect

upon

enactment.

EXPLANATION

The

inclusion

of

this

explanation

does

not

constitute

agreement

with

the

explanation’s

substance

by

the

members

of

the

general

assembly.

This

bill

requires

the

state

board

of

regents

to

prohibit

13

any

increase

in

the

amount

of

tuition

charged

by

an

institution

14

of

higher

education

under

the

board’s

control

to

resident

15

undergraduate

students

on

or

after

the

effective

date

of

the

16

bill

until

July

1,

2031.

takes

effect

upon

enactment.
