APPLICABILITY.

This

Act

applies

to

school

budget

years

beginning

on

or

after

July

1,

2025.

EXPLANATION

The

inclusion

of

this

explanation

does

constitute

agreement

with

the

members

of

the

general

assembly.

This

bill

authorizes

the

use

of

revenues

from

the

district

management

levy

to

pay

costs

related

to

school

safety

and

security.

Under

current

law,

the

board

of

directors

of

a

school

district

may

certify

for

levy

a

tax

on

all

taxable

16

property

in

the

school

district

for

a

district

management

levy.

The

bill

allows

revenues

from

the

district

management

levy

to

18

be

expended

to

pay

the

costs

of

installing

and

operating

school

19

safety

and

security

infrastructure,

including

weapons

detection

20

systems

and

door

monitoring

systems,

and

to

pay

the

costs

of

21

employing

school

security

personnel.

The

bill

applies

to

school

budget

years

beginning

on

or

after

July
