amendment

to

the

Constitution

is

proposed:

State

of

Iowa

is

amended

by

adding

the

following

new

section

to

a

new

article:

Certain

elected

officials

lifetime

term

limits.

A

person

shall

not

be

elected

or

appointed

to

a

term

as

governor,

lieutenant

governor,

secretary

of

state,

secretary

of

agriculture,

auditor

of

state,

treasurer

of

state,

attorney

general,

representative

in

the

general

assembly,

or

senator

in

11

the

general

assembly

if

the

person

will

have

served

twenty-four

years

in

any

of

those

offices

or

any

combination

of

those

13

offices

prior

to

the

commencement

of

the

term.

REFERRAL

AND

PUBLICATION.

The

foregoing

proposed

amendment

to

the

Constitution

of

the

State

of

Iowa

is

referred

to

the

general

assembly

to

be

chosen

at

the

next

general

election

for

members

of

the

general

assembly,

and

shall

be

18

published

as

provided

by

law

for

three

months

previous

to

the

19

date

of

that

election.

proposes

an

amendment

governor,

of

state,

secretary

of

agriculture,

auditor

of

state,

treasurer

of

state,

or

attorney

general.

The

resolution

provides

that

a

person

shall

not

be

elected

or

appointed

to

a

term

in

those

offices

if

the

person

will

have

served

years

in

any

of

those

offices

or

any

combination

thereof

prior

to

the
