Code

is

amended

to

read

as

follows:

724.29

Firearm

devices.

1.

For

purposes

of

this

section,

“trigger

crank”

means

4

any

device

or

instrument

to

be

attached

to

a

firearm

that

5

repeatedly

activates

the

trigger

of

the

firearm

through

the

use

6

of

a

lever

or

other

part

that

is

turned

in

a

circular

motion.

7

“Trigger

crank”

does

not

include

any

weapon

initially

designed

8

and

manufactured

to

fire

through

the

use

of

a

crank

or

lever.

2.

A

person

who

sells

or

offers

for

sale

a

manual

or

10

power-driven

trigger

activating

device

constructed

and

designed

11

so

that

when

attached

to

a

firearm

increases

the

rate

of

12

fire

of

the

firearm

trigger

crank

is

guilty

of

an

aggravated

13

misdemeanor.

This

bill

relates

to

the

sale

or

offer

for

sale

of

certain

firearm

devices.

Under

current

law,

a

person

who

sells

or

offers

for

sale

a

20

manual

or

power-driven

trigger

activating

device

constructed

21

and

designed

so

that

when

attached

to

a

firearm

increases

22

the

rate

of

fire

of

the

firearm

is

guilty

of

an

aggravated

23

misdemeanor.

An

aggravated

misdemeanor

is

punishable

by

24

confinement

for

no

more

than

two

years

and

a

fine

of

at

least

25

$855

but

not

more

than

$8,540.

The

bill

changes

the

restricted

devices

to

only

include

27

trigger

cranks.

The

bill

defines

“trigger

crank”

as

any

device

28

or

instrument

to

be

attached

to

a

firearm

that

repeatedly

29

activates

the

trigger

of

the

firearm

through

the

use

of

a

lever

30

or

other

part

that

is

turned

in

a

circular

motion.

A

weapon

31

initially

designed

and

manufactured

to

fire

through

the

use

of

32

a

crank

or

lever

is

not

included

in

this

definition.
