1.

NEW

SECTION

135.39F

Autologous

or

directed

blood

donations.

1.

For

the

purposes

of

this

section:

a.

“Autologous

blood

donation”

means

a

blood

donation

made

4

by

an

individual

for

the

individual’s

own

use.

b.

“Blood

bank”

means

the

same

as

defined

in

section

141A.1.

c.

“Directed

blood

donation”

means

a

donation

of

blood

7

or

blood

components

for

the

purpose

of

transfusion

into

a

8

specified

individual.

2.

A

blood

bank

that

facilitates

autologous

blood

donations

10

or

directed

blood

donations

shall

comply

with

an

individual’s

11

request,

based

on

a

physician’s

order

for

a

medical

procedure

12

that

may

require

a

blood

transfusion,

for

an

autologous

blood

13

donation

or

directed

blood

donation.

3.

An

autologous

blood

donation

or

directed

blood

donation

collected

pursuant

to

this

section

shall

be

subject

to

all

applicable

federal

and

state

laws

and

rules.

A

bank

may

charge

a

reasonable

fee

for

facilitating

under

this

chapter

facilitates

donations,

the

hospital

shall

comply

with

an

individual’s

request,

on

a

physician’s

order

for

a

medical

procedure

that

may

require

a

blood

transfusion,

for

an

autologous

blood

donation

or

directed

blood

donation.

An

autologous

blood

donation

or

directed

blood

donation

collected

pursuant

to

this

section

shall

be

subject

to

all
