adding

the

following

new

paragraph:

Permitted

weekly

work

search

activities

for

purposes

of

this

subsection

shall

include

the

following:

(1)

For

an

individual

with

an

intellectual

disability,

5

autism

spectrum

disorder,

or

traumatic

brain

injury,

6

participation

in

a

program

offered

or

approved

by

the

division

7

of

vocational

rehabilitation

services

established

in

the

8

department

that

is

designed

to

provide

rehabilitative

support

9

to

such

individuals.

(2)

For

an

individual

who

is

blind,

participation

in

11

a

program

offered

by

the

department

for

the

blind

that

is

12

designed

to

assist

such

individuals

in

gaining

or

maintaining

13

employment.

EXPLANATION

The

inclusion

of

this

explanation

does

not

constitute

agreement

with

16

the

explanation’s

substance

by

the

members

of

the

general

assembly.

This

bill

provides

that

weekly

work

search

activities

for

18

purposes

of

eligibility

for

unemployment

benefits

include

19

certain

specified

activities

for

certain

individuals

with

20

disabilities.

An

individual

with

an

intellectual

disability,

autism

22

spectrum

disorder,

or

traumatic

brain

injury

may

participate

23

in

a

program

offered

or

approved

by

the

division

of

vocational

24

rehabilitation

services

established

in

the

department

25

of

workforce

development

that

is

designed

to

provide

26

rehabilitative

support

to

such

individuals.

An

individual

who

is

blind

may

participate

in

a

program

28

offered

by

the

department

for

the

blind

that

is

designed

to

29

assist

such

individuals

in

gaining

or

maintaining

employment.
