from

general

fund

of

the

Notwithstanding

section

8.33,

moneys

appropriated

in

this

section

that

remain

unencumbered

or

unobligated

at

the

close

of

the

fiscal

year

shall

not

revert

but

shall

remain

available

for

expenditure

for

the

purposes

designated

until

the

close

of

the

succeeding

fiscal

year.

Sec.

2.

EFFECTIVE

DATE.

This

Act,

being

deemed

of

immediate

19

importance,

takes

effect

upon

enactment.

EXPLANATION

The

inclusion

of

this

explanation

does

not

constitute

agreement

with

22

the

explanation’s

substance

by

the

members

of

the

general

assembly.

This

bill

appropriates

$750,000

from

the

general

fund

of

24

the

state

to

the

Iowa

finance

authority

for

FY

2025-2026

to

be

25

used

for

the

military

home

ownership

assistance

program,

which

26

provides

financial

assistance

to

current

and

former

members

27

of

the

United

States

armed

forces

for

purchasing

homes.

The

28

bill’s

appropriation

supplements

the

FY

2025-2026

appropriation

29

passed

by

the

general

assembly

($2.2

million).

30

The

bill

takes

effect

upon

enactment.
