make

available

on

its

internet

days

to

submitting

a

proposal

election

pursuant

to

section

388.2

a

copy

of

each

item

paragraphs

through

this

subsection

.

bill

relates

to

timelines

for

online

information

availability

concerning

the

discontinuance

of

city

utilities.

Under

current

law,

a

proposal

to

discontinue

a

city

utility

12

and

dispose

of

such

utility

by

sale,

whether

upon

the

city

13

council’s

motion

or

upon

the

receipt

of

a

valid

petition,

14

is

subject

to

the

approval

of

the

voters

of

the

city.

The

15

city

must

make

the

proposal

available

at

least

60

days

before

16

submitting

a

proposal

for

the

election.

Under

the

bill,

the

17

approval

requirement

is

changed

to

require

the

city

to

make

18

the

proposal

available

at

least

30

days

before

submitting

a

19

proposal

for

the

election.
